Red Heat Health Alert: advice and support for patients

  1. Be aware of the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke, and seek help if symptoms develop
  2. Keep out of the sun between 11am and 3pm
  3. Plan physical activity for cooler times of day
  4. Keep homes cool by closing windows and curtains in sun-facing rooms
  5. Wear suitable clothing, hats and sunglasses, and use sunscreen outdoors
  6. Drink plenty of fluids and limit alcohol and caffeine
